台灣面積3.5萬平方公里，北到南最遠385公里，東到西最寬143公里，儘管地域狹長，卻橫跨了亞熱帶和熱帶，擁有平原、丘陵、高山等不同的地形地貌，延伸出的海岸線全長1140公里，也同樣擁有不同風情的海岸景色。台灣歷經過荷蘭和日本人的統治殖民，以及當地漢人與原住民的文化交疊，在文化上是多元而且平衡調和的，建築, 風俗 , 宗教皆有受到多元文化上的影響 。台灣儘管地小人稠，但是在景觀地貌上確是有其豐富迥異的特色。

Taiwan has an area of 35,000 square kilometers, 385 kilometers from north to the farthest south, and 143 kilometers from east to west, though the narrow shape of the landscape, but it across the subtropical and tropical, with plains, hills, mountains and dynamic of topography, also the 1,140 kilometers coastline with different coastal view. After the Netherlands and the Japanese colonial rule, as well as local Han Chinese and aboriginal cultures overlap, it bring the divers and balanced to our culture, also had affected on the architecture, customs, and religion. Although the small region with large population here in Taiwan, but the landscape had its rich topography and characteristics.
